Dr. Derrick Hamilton
Dr. Derrick Hamilton, MD, came to Somerville in 2001. As a graduate of Brown Medical School who trained at Le Bonheur's prestigious pediatric program, he had unlimited options. However, he chose to fulfill his four-year rural commitment in Fayette County. After witnessing the needs of his community, Dr. Hamilton became dedicated to providing world-class pediatric care to his neighbors there.
While others may come and go, he has remained the only Board Certified pediatrician in Fayette County for over 20 years. His patients seem to love him as much as he loves them. The younger generation enjoys his dances and TikToks, but his true passion is to be a tangible role model for kids growing up in a community similar to his humble Mississippi upbringing. He refers to the children as his daughters and sons, and he truly treats them as if they are.
